Point Reyes Summer Camp 2021
This summer, due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be able to provide overnight camp at the Clem Miller Environmental Education Center as in the past. Instead, we will offer a number of small-group backpacking trips as an alternative. Distanced outdoor experiences are the safest way to gather, and during camp participants will practice new skills, build confidence, and learn about the natural history of the Point Reyes peninsula while immersed in the natural beauty of the Seashore.
After meeting at Bear Valley, backpacking groups will spend 4 days and 3 nights hiking and camping in the Point Reyes National Seashore, visiting Coast Camp, Glen Camp, and Wildcat Camp for one night each.
The total distance traveled during the session will be approximately 20 miles with a maximum of 7.5 miles hiked during the most challenging day. Groups will be limited to 12 participants and will be required to follow COVID-safe practices throughout the trip.
Two different 12-person groups will be available per session, one for youth entering grades 7-9, and another for youth entering grades 9-12. These groups will remain separate during camp. Participants may borrow backpacking equipment from PRNSA or bring their own. Need-based scholarships will be available by application.
Registration opens at 9am on Feb 17, 2021. The registration link will be available in the Summer Camp section of the PNRSA website. You are welcome to access your existing account or create your new Ultracamp account at any time prior to the opening of registration. Completing the required forms in advance through Ultracamp will facilitate your registration process.
Backpacking sessions will be offered on the following dates:
June 21-24, 2021 entering grades 7-9
June 21-24, 2021 entering grades 9-12

From Our Staff
"My experience at PRSC has been invaluable and life changing, due greatly to the core values that you teach and believe in. I will carry them with me and spread them when I leave this beautiful place."
~ Will, Counselor Intern Naturalist
"Camp has been the most influential experience of my life. Before camp my life consisted of a series of events that revolved around me. I did not care what effect I had on the world and truly didn’t understand that my actions could affect the world. I am so thankful to the influential people that helped shape me from a surface-level girl to a person who has commitment to something larger and more important than herself… Earth. There is nothing in my life more important than this, and I know it was born in the foggy hills of Point Reyes."
~ Megan Bell, former Point Reyes Summer Camper, Counselor-In-Training & Counselor Intern Naturalist
