Point Reyes National Seashore volunteers are essential partners in maintaining and growing park projects, through promoting park stewardship, restoring habitat, monitoring species, and educating visitors. National Park Service (NPS) volunteers assist park staff with a variety of tasks, indoors and outdoors, as do Point Reyes National Seashore (PRNSA) volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to learn more about the Seashore by going behind the scenes and connecting with others who care for this extraordinary land and sea scape.
Everything from pulling invasive plants to monitoring special status species, assisting archeology and historic property projects, helping with visitor services and the park's museum and archives, maintaining the native plant nursery, managing the vegetation team's tool shed, and much more...all of it serves the park, the public, and the planet.
Every July, PRNSA and the NPS celebrate our volunteers and their many accomplishments by hosting them at the annual Volunteer Summer Celebration in the park. Other "perks" are available to volunteers, including the knowledge that their investment of time and energy have a very real and positive impact.
A creative, inclusive, and welcoming volunteer program is our mission; we invite you, your family, your community, and your group to explore Point Reyes and engage with us. Now more than ever, volunteers matter. Please join us!
