Brief Description
of Duties
The primary function
of this position is to plan and conduct
natural history and environmental education
programs for children attending Point
Reyes Nature Science Camp. This is a residential,
weekday environmental education camp for
children ages 7-16. Some evening work
and driving of camp vehicles with children
is required.
Summary of Qualifications
1) Academic background
in natural history, science or environmental
education.
2) Strong leadership ability, dynamic
and effective teacher, positive role model.
3) At least 1 year teaching experience
in residential environmental education.
4) General knowledge of first aid techniques
and CPR with current certification.
5) Clean driving record and willingness
to apply for a commercial driving license.
6) Ability to carry a 50 pound backpack
up to 8 miles per day over rugged terrain.
7) Enjoyment of the outdoors, creativity,
enthusiasm, flexibility, self-motivation,
and a sense of humor.

The Clem Miller
Environmental Education Center, home of
Point Reyes Summer Camp, is close to one
of the finest beaches in Point Reyes National
Seashore. This overnight summer camp for
kids ages 7-16 explores the rich coastal
environments and diverse habitats of one
of the country's most beautiful National
Parks.
