Reid began photographing his dog when he was 9 with a Kodak Brownie camera. From there, he graduated, with my dad’s instruction, to a Kodak Retina I (c. 1939), a light meter, and a darkroom. His experience is varied from shooting portraits, exploring the intimate world of macro photography, to teaching pinhole camera construction at a camp for the blind.
He teaches photography and digital image processing throughout the Bay Area including the College of Marin, Santa Rosa Junior College, Samy's Camera in San Francisco, Looking Glass Photo and Camera in Berkeley, Keeble & Shuchat Photo in Palo Alto, and the City of Walnut Creek Civic Arts Education program.
And he still likes taking pictures of his dog.
