A minimal processing fee will be charged.

Spring Stories on the Beach

Ane Carla Rovetta
Saturday, April 17 • 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM • $18 ($15 members) per person

Anticipate Earth Week through legends and stories during this enchanting evening on the beach. Throughout the ages, the natural world has been brought to life by the spoken word. Tonight, we’ll be held spellbound by myths and stories that evoke the special spirit of the season as they weave their magic about the creatures of the night.

Butterflies & Wildflowers for Families

Wendy Dreskin
Saturday, May 1 • 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM • $20 ($18 members) per person

What plants do caterpillars eat? On which flowers do butterflies nectar? How can plants and ants help caterpillars and butterflies protect themselves from predators? As John Muir said, “tug on anything at all and you’ll find it connected to everything else in the universe.” Learn the connections between wildflowers, butterflies, ants, wasps and birds on an explorationof Cascade Canyon. This will not be a collecting class—all butterflies we visit with will be returned to their habitats unharmed. By the end of the day, you’ll be on a first-name basis with about ten species of butterflies and a dozen host plants, and will go home with information about books
and equipment that will enable you to continue exploring on your own.
