What’s the Seminar Cancellation Policy?

Notification must be received at least 16 days before the first day of the seminar if you cancel and wish to receive a refund (minus a $10 processing fee for each person registered) or a full credit toward another seminar (good for one year). Credits cannot be refunded once issued. NO refunds, transfers or credits will be issued on cancellations made less than 16 days in advance. You may arrange for someone to attend in your place if you wish, but we need to know the names of these participants before the seminar begins. In the event that Point Reyes Field Seminars cancels a program, we will issue a full refund or credit.

Are accommodations included for two-day seminars?

If indicated in the course description, accommodations may be included at either the Clem Miller Environmental Education Center or the Historic Lifeboat Station. Sleeping arrangements are dormitory style with bunk beds in several rooms or cabins. Participants bring their own sleeping bag, towel and personal toiletries and food for breakfasts and lunches. Evening meals are potluck. Since we have no janitorial staff, each group staying at a facility is expected to clean up at the end of the seminar, readying it for the next group. As at a hostel, each person is expected to do a chore (sweeping, mopping, putting away chairs or tables, etc.) before leaving. When everyone chips in, the whole process usually takes about an hour, and is coordinated by the weekend facilitator. This enables us to keep our overhead down and offer classes with accommodations included at a very reasonable price.

Overnight accommodation is included for paid registrants only. You may make other accommodation arrangements if you wish, but we cannot reduce the seminar fee. Before registering, please read Cancellation Policy above. Click here for more accommodation options. We invite and encourage you to stay with one of our Business Members.

Participants with disabilities.

Some of our offerings are wheelchair accessible. Many of our seminars, however, involve field study on trails which may not accommodate a wheelchair or a person with a walking difficulty. Most of our facilities are wheelchair accessible, but the second floor of the Historic Lifeboat Station is not. Please call us to inquire about each seminar and your particular situation at (415) 663-1200 ext. 373. We can often make special arrangements or inquire with the instructor as to the level of difficulty or accessibility.
