Explore the beauty and science of some of Point Reyes National Seashore’s most scenic yet least visited places by taking advantage of a rare midday negative low tide to access sea caves and beaches normally blocked by breaking waves. Hiking beneath towering cliffs and over wave-sculpted rocks, we'll make our way past pristine tidepools and through a series of caves, arches, and tunnels. Along the way we’ll discuss the geologic forces that created this unique landscape and the life forms that inhabit it. If conditions are right, we may even be able to explore a section of normally inaccessible beach containing one of the Seashore's most impressive caves.
Bring footwear that can get wet (or pack extra dry socks).
A headlamp is recommended but not required.
Strenuous extended walking and hiking over uneven terrain.
Also open to youth (age 10 to 17) with parent attending.
This class is currently full, please call (415) 663.1200 x 373 to be added to the waitlist.

We offer gift certificates for specific classes or the dollar amount of your choice. Email or call 415.663.1200 ext. 373 and we can create a certificate for you to give as a gift.
