Tidewaters Rising! A King Tide Hike
Join the Point Reyes National Seashore Association for a family-friendly program to see how extreme winter tides flood the restored Giacomini Wetland in Point Reyes Station. During this interpretive walk through the flooded wetland, learn about climate change, tides and what King Tides can tell us about the future of our local coastline as sea level rises. Dress for the weather, and bring binoculars to view the beautiful birds and wildlife. You might also want to bring a camera to capture some images to share with the Coastal Commission’s California King Tides Photo Project. Rubber boots will be provided if requested in advance. Remember, this is a free event and space is limited so sign up today!
