**Cancelled Due To Weather** 9th Annual Christmas Bird Count For Kids
Due to the rain and high winds forecasted for this Saturday, we will be cancelling the 9th Annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids (CBC4Kids). While we are very disappointed to cancel one of our favorite events, participant safety is our number one priority, and we feel that Saturday’s forecast prevents us from ensuring that everyone has a safe and enjoyable outing. Additionally, one of our primary goals with this event is to get kids excited about birding, and windy, wet weather can make birding quite difficult and especially frustrating for children.
We truly value your continued support and hope that you keep an eye out for future PRNSA events. You can visit our website at www.ptreyes.org to learn about future events and classes.
Point Reyes National Seashore Association
This is a FREE event!
In honor and memory of Richard Stallcup, a mentor to generations of birders, Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA), in collaboration with the National Park Service and Sonoma Birding, invites families with children ages 3-18 to the 9th annual Point Reyes Christmas Bird Count for Kids (CBC4Kids).
Gather your fledglings for this celebration of nature, parks, education and outdoor family fun. Bringing together all the basic elements of birding, this event will introduce the next generation of stewards to the importance of birds in the ecosystem, and to citizen science through the tradition of annual bird counts. With 490 bird species recorded (54% of all North American species), Point Reyes National Seashore is the ideal outdoor classroom for you and your brood to learn about the fascinating world of birds. Naturalists will lead groups into a number of field locations to identify and count birds.
