PRNSA Field Institue Instructor

Well known to children as “Sharon Heron”, Sharon has taught environmental education for over 15 years in Marin and internationally.  A native of Upstate New York, she has a BA in Environmental Studies and a MS in Education. Sharon teaches science at Marin Country Day School and is the Beginning Hiking instructor for College of Marin. She is the co-founder of Marin Nature Adventures, the 2011 Terwilliger Environmental Award winner and Vice President of The River Otter Ecology Project. She has volunteered with many organizations including The Marine Mammal Center, SPAWN, Point Reyes National Seashore, and served as Director for Marin Audubon Society.
