Get ready for an intense weekend of photography and learning as we photograph the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore with an editorial slant toward visual storytelling, creating compelling and evocative images.
Have you ever daydreamed about how much fun it would be to be a photographer on assignment for a major travel magazine or book publisher? Perhaps you’re trying to move yourself from dreaming about it to doing it? This class will be a great chance to dip your feet into that world, to push yourself and your vision forward, and learn how to see better in the field. The focus of the class will be helping you to better understand your equipment, working with natural light, exposure, creating dynamic compositions, and to really work a scene, all set within a framework of helping you to tell stronger visual stories with your camera. It will be as if each photographer has been assigned to illustrate an imaginary article, or a small personal souvenir booklet about Point Reyes.
Photographers of all levels, from amateur to experienced are welcomed. The class will be a mix of classroom presentations, in-field demonstrations, and after shooting almost all day Saturday and Sunday morning, we'll conclude with a review and critique of student images. Accommodations included at the Historic Lifeboat Station
